Rory Hanrahan, writing in The Spectator, 9 October 2026
"An insidious new form of anti-Semitic violence has arrived on British streets."
In his latest piece for The Spectator, Rory looks at the wave of arson attacks on Jewish targets in London this year – from the firebombing of Hatzola ambulances in Golders Green to attacks on synagogues in Finchley and Harrow – and the model police are now examining: hostile states recruiting local criminals online, paying them small sums in cryptocurrency for low-level attacks, and escalating from there while staying completely deniable.
He links that "gig-economy" terror to a wider climate of hostility, including the Green Party conference vote to class Zionism as a form of racism, and argues that arrests alone are not enough: ministers must name the suspected sponsor, proscribe the group claiming responsibility, and go after the money.
